Our Placement Test

All new students are encouraged to take our Cambridge Placement Test in English Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening which will be the same or a similar test most recently taken by the students’ peer group. It will be matched to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) and so will also tell you how well your child has mastered English at an internationally recognized level!

Placement Testing Process

Upon enrollment a student will be recommended or required to take placement tests, usually in English or writing, in math and in reading.
Testing may also include a computer-scored essay, or an English-as-a-second-language assessment.

Advisors interpret the scores and discuss course placement with the student. As a result of the placement, students may take multiple developmental courses before qualifying for college level courses.
Students with the most developmental courses have the lowest odds of completing the developmental sequence or passing gatekeeper college courses such as Expository Writing or College Algebra.
